New Cards, Past Layouts

I usually try out the layouts that I send with the card kits for all my Stampin' Club members and I was a little behind on posting over the past 2 months, so I pulled out the June and July card kits and gave them a try. Below is a card for the Card Positioning System layout #119. Have you ever checked out this site? They have awesome examples of all their layouts...lots of inspiration!I didn't use the supplies in the June kit, but instead gave an In Color combo a try. This is a bright card! I stamped part of the circle greeting from this set, plus the other butterfly on the inside:Supplies used: bermuda bay (base, matte for butterfly and ladybug circles), tempting turquoise and green galore card stock, garden whimsy stamp set (p 109, $26.95) and the coordinating wheel "whimsy" (p 106, $8.50), warm words stamp set (p. 141 $21.95), white craft ink, white embossing powder, bermuda bay ribbon and circle punches. The layout from July (CPS #109) was a challenge! Here's what I came up with:Supplies used: petal pizzaz stamp set (p 113, $32.95) and greeting from great friend (p 107, #17.95). Pumpkin pie, melon mambo and rich razzleberry card stock and inks, razzleberry lemonade designer paper and pearl from the pretties kit.
Here's another take on the same layout, using melon mambo, pretty in pink, and so saffron: I used the one of a kind stamp set (p 130, $19.95) and the coordinating boho blossoms punch, along with buttons from button latte, brads, and melon mambo ribbon. Again all supplies (c) Stampin' Up! 1995-2009.

Rich Razzleberry

I've been trying out some different color combinations with the new In Colors. On the card above, I used rich razzleberry and soft suede. I like this combo--I think I like these 2 colors! I embossed the razzle dazzle image with white ep, distressed the edges, and used a build-a-brad for the accent. For the brad, I stamped a part of the image onto the designer paper in rich razzleberry and then outlined it with the soft suede marker so it would show up more. The designer paper is from razzleberry lemonade. I really like how the ribbon is double-sided so you get two looks out of it--a little more "bang for your buck" which is always helpful these days!This card uses rose red with the rich razzleberry. I colored the image from sweet stems stamp set (#113726, $16.95) with a blender pen and my rich razzleberry marker so that I could get different shades. The centers of the flowers are bermuda bay. I tore the right side of all the papers, and added a button from button latte and a thin piece of cardstock tied in a knot for accents. all supplies used (c) Stampin' Up! 1995-2009
Just a note about the "dormant list". Sweet stems is not in the new catalog, but it also did not retire. It has been moved to the "dormant list" which means it is still a current set and available for purchase. I have a list of these stamp sets, in case you are looking for something that you saw before, and can't remember whether it retired or not.
I'll be posting later today or tomorrow with the winner from the Scavenger Hunt! This was a special that I offered to all my Stampin' Six Club members--they completed a scavenger hunt for items and images in the new catalog and then I'm drawing a name from those that were sent back to me, for a $20 stamp set! The lyrics to this Otis Redding song remind me of the new In Colors-- the warmth of crushed curry and the deep aqua in bermuda bay. Summer just invites us to sit in the sun for awhile! Maybe with your wish list and new catalog???

The front of the new 09-10 Idea Book and Catalog features these two colors so I paired them together in a few different layouts.
