Fresh Cut Notes

So just what is a laser-cut note card? In this photo, the bottom 3 petals show how the card comes, and then you punch out the large petal shape, as in the top 2 petals. The note cards are already scored, too. These cards can be as elaborate as you want, or simple and elegant. Below is one idea.....The colors used here are real red and bashful blue. After punching out the large petal shape, I colored the small petals that were left with a red marker. The center is a bashful blue die cut blooms (you can still order these from the occasions mini catalog!) with a brad. I stamped the large background stamp from the Fresh Cuts stamp set onto a separate piece of whisper white card stock and mounted it behind the cut out with pop up dots. I finished it off with the striped grosgrain ribbon, and 3 tiny punched out circles of real red card stock below the "thank you".

One note about these cards....this may seem obvious, but I have a feeling a few people have figured this out from experience....if you want a pattern to show through the openings, you don't want to stamp it on the inside of the card, but rather, use another piece of paper and mount it behind like I did. If you stamp directly on the card, you won't be able to write anything on the inside....your words will be over your pattern, and will show through the openings.

Did you know? The retiring stamp set list posted on the stampin' up! web site yesterday. Want to take a look? Just click here. More samples coming tomorrow.....
